Short description
Discover the dramatic Irish legend of the Children of Tuireann — a tale of revenge, impossible tasks, magic and tragedy from the ancient stories of Ireland. One of the great tales of Irish mythology, The Children of Tuireann tells the story of three brothers — Brian, Iuchar and Iucharba.
The brothers became caught up in a terrible feud when they killed Cian, father of the great warrior and god Lugh.
Lugh demanded a blood-debt, known as an éric, and set the brothers a series of seemingly impossible tasks. They were sent across Ireland and beyond in search of magical treasures and objects, facing danger, hardship and supernatural challenges along the way.
Although the brothers succeeded in completing the tasks, they returned exhausted and badly wounded. Their father, Tuireann, pleaded with Lugh to show mercy.
But the debt could not simply be forgotten.
The story ends in tragedy, making the Children of Tuireann one of Ireland's most powerful legends of family, revenge, honour, courage and the consequences of one's actions.
Beautifully illustrated in the RareGer style, this card brings one of Ireland's ancient mythological tales to life.
A story of courage, consequence and a debt that could not be escaped.
