One of the greatest legends of Irish mythology, The Cattle Raid of Cooley tells the story of Queen Medb of Connacht and her desire to possess the mighty Brown Bull of Cooley.

Determined to equal the wealth and power of her husband, King Ailill, Medb learned that the Brown Bull was one of the greatest treasures in Ireland. She demanded that its owner surrender the magnificent animal, but when her request was refused, she gathered her army and marched into Ulster.

Standing against Medb's forces was the young warrior Cú Chulainn, who defended Ulster almost single-handedly while its warriors were unable to fight.

The great raid became a legendary conflict filled with warriors, champions, battles and acts of extraordinary courage.

At its heart, the story is one of pride, ambition, rivalry and the terrible cost of war.
